For the first time (the small ones we had a couple of years ago don’t count) Los Angeles is hosting a Blues workshop weekend, presented by Do Something Blue.
Here’s what they say:
LA Blues is dedicated to inspire, educate and entertain. This is the first national blues dancing weekend in Los Angeles, where we have a thriving scene with weekly classes and various monthly events offered throughout the city. This is why LA Blues is excited to not only offer special performances and contests but two days of lessons, three nights of dancing, teachers and DJs from around the country, and plenty of California Sun. You don’t want to miss it.
Teachers:
Joe Demers & Nelle Hatley (Denver), Karissa Lightsmith & Topher Howard (Seattle),
Cid Galicia (Chico), Laura Glaess and Mike Roberts (Austin),
and Tim O’Neill & Whitton Frank (Los Angeles)
DJs:
Joe Demers (Denver), Cid Galicia (Chico), Scot Mattson (Denver), Roy Rydbeck (San Francisco), Whitton Frank (Los Angeles), and Kristin Buxton (Los Angeles)
